UFC Vegas 54, Jan Blachowicz, Aleksandar Rakic

UFC Vegas 54 went down on Saturday night at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas. The main event ended in an unfortunate manner as Jan Blachowicz defeated Aleksandar Rakic by TKO after the Austrian suffered a brutal knee injury in the third round. The fight was exciting while it lasted. In his post-fight Octagon interview, ‘The Prince of Cieszyn’ called for a title shot against the winner of Glover Teixeira vs Jiri Prochazka, set to headline UFC 275.

In the co-main event, Ryan Spann turned the tables on Ion Cutelaba by submitting him in the first round, after getting taken down multiple times in the first couple of minutes of the fight.

Elsewhere on the UFC Vegas 54 main card, Davey Grant returned to winning ways by stopping Louis Smolka in the third round after a back and forth battle, Katlyn Chookagian defeated Amanda Ribas by a razor close split decision, Manuel Torres made a spectacular start to his UFC career by stopping veteran Frank Camacho in the first round and Allan Nascimento got back into the win column by scoring a unanimous decision victory against Jake Hadley.
