Michael Bisping has given his thoughts on the vacant light heavyweight title fight between Jan Blachowicz and Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 282.

UFC 282 was originally scheduled to be headlined by Jiri Prochazka and Glover Teixeira with the light heavyweight title on the line, but the fight was called off after the champion pulled out due to injury and vacated the title out of respect for the other contenders as he will likely stay out of action for more than a year. The Brazilian was offered a vacant title fight against the Ankalaev, but due to disagreements with the UFC, the MMA veteran decided not to compete.

With both main event fighters out of the equation, Blachowicz and Ankalaev, who were originally scheduled to co-headline the event, will fight for the vacant title in the main event. Speaking on his YouTube channel (as transcribed by SportsKeeda), Bisping gave his thoughts on the new UFC 282 main event.

“I feel like Jan Blachowicz, if he can stop the takedown, the fight is going to be in his favor, but it’s going to be hard,” Bisping said. “Magomed is a Dagestani and is a master of the sport of sambo wrestling… Regardless, the takedowns are going to be absolutely the key factors. Not to say Magomed can’t strike but Blachowicz is great on the feet… If he can, I can see a KO victory for Jan Blachowicz or Magomed is going to take him down.”
