UFC middleweight Joaquin Buckley has shared his theory on why he thinks Conor McGregor will not make a return to the UFC.

McGregor’s most recent fight was against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in 2021, where ‘The Diamond’ secured a doctor’s stoppage win due to the Irishman’s broken tibia.

The Notorious’ recovery from his injury has been lengthy, but he is up and running once again, hoping to make his return to the cage soon.

While fans and fighters are eagerly anticipating McGregor’s return to the Octagon, there are speculations that the Dublin native is planning to make his UFC comeback in the summer of 2024. Moreover, rumors are suggesting that he might stage his comeback against Michael Chandler.

Recently, Buckley expressed his thoughts on the Irishman’s return to the Octagon on Twitter, formerly known as ‘X.’

“Man, I’m already knowing the reason Conor McGregor’s not coming back. He know he’d get bodied and he’ll no longer be the face of combat sports [facepalm]. Money Mac get yo money man but stop pretending like you coming back getting these folks’ hopes up [laughing faces].”

Buckley’s tweet regarding the Irishman’s comeback has generated diverse opinions in the MMA community. Some back Buckley’s perspective, while others disagree, thinking that McGregor is sincerely striving to return to his previous form.

The official date and opponent for Conor McGregor’s upcoming matchup have not been confirmed yet.
