Jamahal Hill believes UFC veteran Glover Teixeira has never fought someone like him in his illustrious career.

The vacant light heavyweight title fight between Teixeira and Hill was announced after Jan Blachowicz vs Magomed Ankalaev ended in a split draw at UFC 282. The bout will take place in the Brazilian’s home country in January at UFC 283, with the winner expected to face Jiri Prochazka, who vacated the title due to an injury.

Teixeira has fought the who’s who of the 205-pound division, including Jon Jones, Anthony Johnson and Alexander Gustafsson. He’s faced the best grapplers and strikers in the division over the years, but Hill believes he possesses a certain skill that his opponent has never experienced before.

In a recent interview with James Lynch (as transcribed by SportsKeeda), Hill said that Teixeira has never fought anyone with his finishing ability.

“What happens when I hurt somebody? Who have I hurt that I did not finish? When I hurt somebody what happens? It’s game over,” Hill said. “We’ve seen Glover hurt somebody and they survive, we’ve seen Jiri [Prochazka] hurt somebody and they survive. So when we are talking about finishing ability, you can’t compare me to nobody else bro.”

Hill is currently riding a three fight winning streak, with his most recent victory coming against Thiago Santos by fourth round TKO at UFC Vegas 59. His only career loss came at the hands of Paul Craig at UFC 263.
