Former US president Donald Trump will provide alternative commentary on a ‘gamecast’ of Triller: Legends 2, headlined by Evander Holyfield and Vitor Belfort at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Florida on Saturday night.

Trump is not new to combat sports, and boxing in particular, as he hosted many boxing matches in the 1980s and 90s at his casinos in New Jersey. The 75-year-old has also attended several UFC events over the years and is an admirer of Colby Covington, who is set to face Kamaru Usman in a title rematch at UFC 268.

How Much Money Will He Make?

Triller has dabbled with celebrity commentators like Snoop Dogg, Pete Davidson, and Jim Lampley in the past, but Trump is their most notable celebrity commentator to date. Although there are no specific details about his earnings, TMZ reports that the business tycoon will be making ‘millions and millions’ of dollars commentating the fights.

“Multiple sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ, Trump says he’s making an ‘obscene’ amount of money providing ‘live, alternative commentary’ on the Evander Holyfield vs Vitor Belfort fight,” TMZ reported. “We’re told Triller, the media company behind the event, is paying a fortune… millions and millions for his blow-by-blow analysis, though our sources would not be more specific.”

Trump will also get a private G5 jet, which will fly him to the venue and then take him back to his residence in West Palm Beach.

Trump will be accompanied by his son Donald Trump Jr. During the pre-fight press conference, Trump Jr said that he was very excited to join his father in the commentary booth on such a special boxing event.

“I’d be watching it sort of anyway, and now we actually get to talk about it,” Trump Jr said. “Boxing has probably lost some of what it used to have and that’s because of the incredible advent of UFC and MMA but I think this is really going to be special so I’m really looking forward to it.”

What Are The Reactions?

According to TMZ’s report, many Triller stakeholders aren’t happy with Trump’s involvement, with some being “downright angry”. Many people on social media, including journalists and politicians, are also unhappy with Trump’s involvement in Triller’s event, which will take place on the 20th anniversary of 9/11 terrorist attacks.
