Dana White believes Sean O’Malley is the biggest star in the UFC bantamweight history.

O’Malley dominated Marlon Vera to defend his bantamweight crown at UFC 299, which pulled in a whopping $14.1 million, securing its spot as the fourth highest-grossing event in UFC history.

Dana believes O’Malley is the reason why numbers across the board are so high for the event.

“Biggest bantamweight fight of all time,” Dana declared at the UFC 299 post-fight press conference. “Based off energy, excitement, gate, and pay-per-view, it’s by far the biggest fight ever in the bantamweight division. O’Malley’s the biggest star ever in bantamweight history. He’s on his way. He’s the biggest star in bantamweight history. I can say that right now.”

Not only O’Malley, but Vera also enjoyed a ton of support from fans, who were backing him to the hilt.

“You heard ‘USA, USA’ and I don’t know what they were saying, something ‘O’Malley,’” White said. “And then you’d hear ‘Chito, Chito!’ It’s the best. I don’t know about moving divisions. You know how I feel about that. Even (Ilia) Topuria was talking about not fighting anyone in the division after just winning the title. That’s crazy talk.”

With Vera in the rear-view mirror, O’Malley will now likely defend his crown against number one contender Merab Dvalishvili, although ‘Suga’ wants to fight Ilia Topuria for the featherweight title.
