Despite being on a four-fight losing skid, Robbie Lawler doesn’t feel any sort of pressure to bounce back into the win column.

Lawler’s last win came against ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone at UFC 214 in 2017. Since then, he has lost four in a row, against Rafael dos Anjos, Ben Askren, Colby Covington, and Neil Magny. ‘Ruthless’ was scheduled to fight Mike Perry last November at UFC 255, but was forced to withdraw from the fight due to injury.

No Pressure

Speaking to MMA Junkie, Lawler said that he’s feeling good right now and is looking forward to his next fight.

“I feel good,” Lawler said. “Life’s good, training is going good right now. … I’m waiting for a fight. Just talking to my manager Dave [Martin], and we’ll see where we can go from there.”

In the last year, the UFC has parted ways with several veterans on losing streaks, including Anderson Silva, Yoel Romero and Junior dos Santos. Despite falling in the same category, Lawler doesn’t feel any sort of pressure.

“I’ve been doing this for a long time,” Lawler said. “A fight’s a fight. You do the best you can. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. There’s no such thing as pressure really. It’s just what we do. Sometimes you compete a little bit better, sometimes you don’t. But no pressure.”

Michael Chandler Was A Good Signing For The UFC

Michael Chandler is set to compete against Charles Oliveira for the vacant lightweight title in the UFC 262 main event next month, and Lawler is full of praise for his Sanford MMA teammate.

“Michael Chandler’s doing a great job going out there knocking people out, getting in people’s faces,” Lawler said. “He’s very exciting fighter, comes to fight very high octane, ready to go out there knock somebody out, grapple, wrestle, big throws, he does it all so it’s good for the UFC.”
