This weekend we finally get to see Max Holloway defend his UFC Featherweight Championship against the former UFC Lightweight Champion, Frankie Edgar. This is the third time this match up has been made, and now it’s finally here! We’ve waited for quite a while to find out, can Max Holloway hang with the well-rounded game of ‘The Answer’? Max has defeated a couple legends already in Jose Aldo (twice) and Anthony Pettis, but Edgar mixes his attack up better than anyone out there; both Aldo and Pettis, though they’re great on the ground, are primarily strikers. They’re not going to try and out wrestle their opponents like Frankie will.

‘Blessed’ is finally coming into his prime years, as he’s almost 28-years-old, and the decade-older former lightweight king is getting his third title shot in the featherweight division. His other two shots were against Jose Aldo, in which he was defeated each time via unanimous decision. Holloway finished Aldo via TKO in round three both times he fought him, not that it means anything pertaining to this fight, because it doesn’t. Just an interesting fact.

Will the champion be able to use his striking, wrestling defense, and pace to continue ruling the featherweight division, or will the well-rounded game of the challenger be enough to take the throne? It’s not often Holloway gets out wrestled, and if he does, it’s not for long. He knows how to make adjustments mid-fight better than anyone.

The NCAA Division I wrestling of Edgar could pose some problems, who like I said, can mix it up as well as anyone. He also has great boxing with some really good kicks, along with a BJJ black belt, it’ll be interesting to see how Max handles this one.

Frankie Edgar attempts to become the eighth man to win a title in two weight classes inside the UFC this Saturday once again, and Max Holloway looks to defend his title for the third time. Who wins this epic showdown in the featherweight division, and how do each of these potential winners match up with Alexander Volkanovski? Fight Card posted below:
