Holly Holm wants a rematch against the greatest woman fighter of all time, Amanda Nunes, before she retires. After her dominant victory against Felicia Spencer at UFC 250, ‘The Lioness’ hinted at her retirement for some personal time, as her wife Nina Ansaroff is expecting their first child.

In their previous fight at UFC 239, Nunes defeated Holm via a headkick TKO in the first round, successfully defending her bantamweight title. ‘The Preacher’s Daughter’ is now scheduled to face Irene Aldana at the UFC APEX, in Las Vegas on August 1st, hoping to make her way up to another title fight.

Although Holm understands why Nunes may want some time away from the Octagon, she is hopeful that the Brazilian doesn’t hang up her gloves yet. Speaking to MMA Junkie, Holly gave her thoughts on the situation and revealed that she is eager for a rematch against Amanda before she retires.

“She’s kinda been pretty active and been on a roll,” Holm said. “Obviously she’s run through everybody so sometimes maybe she feels a little satisfied so maybe she doesn’t feel that urge to want to keep on it but then again, you have a little bit of time in between fights and it’s like, “Ah no, I want to do it again,” so I don’t know. We’ll see what she really does.

“I know she’s in a place where I don’t think anybody would blame her for walking away, but I don’t think she really wants to walk away. She might want to keep fighting. When you’re on top sometimes it’s hard to walk away from that so I think that’s gonna be however she feels. Life is always going on for everyone outside of the cage as well, so a lot of people are feeling certain things in their life. Wherever she wants to take her path, more power to her. But I hope she’s still there so I can get a rematch with her.”
