Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic situation, both cards, as well as UFC 249, will take place behind closed doors at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida.

Whilst talking to ESPN‘s Brett Okamoto, Dana also announced that Tyron Woodley is set to headline the May 23rd event.

“We’re working on a fight with [Woodley] right now. After these three dates, we’re coming right back. We’re going to do four fights in 14 days. After May 9th, the UFC schedule is back on. We’re back on and running. We’re looking at a fight for Woodley. Woodley will probably be the fourth fight. He’ll be the main event.”

Following Dana’s comments, both Woodley and Gilbert Burns took to social media to say that they had agreed to fight each other.

As well as discussing the four upcoming events later this month in Florida, Dana also said that the UFC may have a different plan for Jorge Masvidal now. The UFC president has previously stated that ‘Gamebred’ would challenge Kamaru Usman for the UFC welterweight title next.

However, Dana revealed that he may have a new opponent in mind for the ‘BMF’.

“We’re talking about a few different things. We have something else interesting for Masvidal too that we were just talking about yesterday. We’ll see. We’ll see how this whole thing plays out. Locations, how fast, you know, to start speculating down the road right now is too soon.

“Let’s get by these three fights in Florida and then we’ll figure out what’s next. But yeah, we’re talking about different possibilities with those guys.”

Dana’s comments comes the day after the promotion announced their security protocol for the upcoming event in Jacksonville, Florida.
