Sean Strickland is considering moving to boxing if he doesn’t receive the opportunity for an immediate rematch against Dricus du Plessis.
‘Tarzan’ last fought in January at UFC 297, where he lost his middleweight belt in a razor-close decision t du Plessis. Given the nature of the close contest between the two fighters, Strickland wants an immediate rematch against the South African. However, it appears that the UFC isn’t keen on giving the American any such opportunity.
Earlier this week, Strickland used his social media platform, ‘X’, to demand a rematch with DDP, saying that if the UFC fails to fulfill his demands, he’ll move to boxing.
“The UFC fans want me and Dricus to settle it. Dricus wants to settle it. We all know I fought in a dirty liberal country (Canada) who fucked me. Dana knows it. The UFC knows it. IF IT WAS ANYONE ELSE ON THE ROSTER THE REMATCH WOULD HAPPEN! Do the right thing UFC.”
“You know man I’m not climbing that fucking ladder again….. If that isn’t it for me idk boxing…Yeah [I’ll] go make millions beating up Jake Paul LMAO,” Strickland wrote in his first post on X.

IF IT WAS ANYONE ELSE ON THE ROSTER THE REMATCH WOULD HAPPEN! Do the right thing UFC.
A few weeks ago, rumor had it that the UFC was working on a fight between Strickland and Robert Whittaker. However, the promotion later announced a middleweight clash between the Aussie and Khamzat Chimaev at UFC Saudi Arabia.
Moreover, speculation is swirling about the possibility of du Plessis facing off against Israel Adesanya in Australia later this year.
