Sean O’Malley has made it clear that he’s not interested in fighting at UFC 300.

O’Malley is gearing up for his first bantamweight title defense against Marlon Vera at UFC 299, which is set to unfold in Miami, Florida in March, a month before the blockbuster UFC 300.

Should he beat Vera without suffering any damage, rumor has it that he might make an appearance at UFC 300 as the card still needs a main event.

During a recent interview with The Schmo, O’Malley discussed the approaching UFC 300 set for April 13. When asked about potential main event selections and assuming the role of a matchmaker, ‘Sugar’ playfully dismissed the question, joking that having him on the card would be ideal but he’s focus on the task at hand for now.

“Yeah, that’s a tricky one,” O’Malley said. “I think I go out there and KO “Chito,” throw me on [the] UFC 300 main event. No, I think that’s a little two quick of a turnaround there. But, as far as the main event, I don’t know. I’m just so focused on what I gotta do and just don’t care to think much about it.”

O’Malley and Vera locked horns for the first time at UFC 252, where the Ecuadorian stopped ‘Suga’ Sean by TKO after he damaged his peroneal nerve due to a low kick. Since then, the reigning champion has been calling himself ‘mentally undefeated’ because he doesn’t consider a TKO by injury a loss.

Will Sean O’Malley exact his revenge at UFC 299?
