Michael Chandler has reassured fans that his fight against Conor McGregor will definitely take place at UFC 303.
Chandler and McGregor are set to headline UFC 303 during the UFC’s International Fight Week in Las Vegas. After nearly two years of anticipation, the fight is now just weeks away. However, uncertainty arose before the event when the pre-fight press conference scheduled for UFC 303 in Dublin on Monday was unexpectedly canceled. This sparked online speculation, with some suggesting that McGregor might be injured or that other unforeseen circumstances could impact the fight.
However, Chandler believes there’s nothing to worry about.
In a recent episode of The Pivot Podcast, Chandler gave fans an update about what’s happening with UFC 303.
“I got this fight coming up,” Chandler said. “Hope – eh, yeah. Allegedly. No we – yeah, the fight’s happening. Obviously, where we are right now – yeah, there’s a lot of speculation, but the fight is on, June 29. It’s happening.”
Both McGregor and Chandler aim to win their upcoming fights after losing their last ones. McGregor hasn’t fought since injuring his leg at UFC 264, while Chandler lost his last UFC bout against Poirier at UFC 281.
Although there are still unanswered questions about UFC 303, Chandler’s remarks offer fans some optimism. As the event draws near, it appears increasingly likely that one of the year’s biggest fights will indeed take place.
