Joe Rogan has called on Canada to “get your s*** together’ and replace Prime Minister Justin Trudeau after fans at UFC 297 expressed their displeasure with the country’s leader through ‘f*** Trudeau’ chants.
The UFC returned to Canada with the UFC 297 pay-per-view event earlier this month, the main focus of which was the middleweight title headliner featuring Sean Strickland and Dricus du Plessis.
During the pre-fight press conference, a Canadian journalist asked former champion Strickland about his 2021 comments where he mentioned he would view himself as a failed man if he had a gay son. Clearly upset by the question, Strickland didn’t hold back and strongly criticized the journalist in his response.
“You’re part of the f***ing problem,” Strickland said. “You elected Justin Trudeau. When he seized the bank accounts, like you’re just f***ing pathetic. The fact that you have no f***ing backbone and as he shut down your f***ing country and seized bank accounts, you ask me some stupid s*** like that? Go f*** yourself.”
Although Strickland received a ton of flak from Canadian media for his comments, the crowd at UFC 297 voiced their support for him with anti-Trudeau chants, something that Joe Rogan acknowledged on his podcast.
“F*** Trudeau,” Rogan said. “They’re yelling ‘F*** Trudeau’. Yea. Yea. Canada, get your s*** together. Come back. Come back to what you used to be. That Pierre Poilievre guy, however you say his name. That guy makes sense.”
