Colby Covington is the latest fighter to criticize Ian Garry as public scrutiny against the Irishman grows.
Garry is facing criticism from fellow fighters, especially Sean Strickland, because of his marriage to Layla Anna-Lee, and it seems like the attention won’t ease up soon.
In a recent interview with TNT Sports, ‘The Future’ opened up about his family’s concerns, particularly when it comes to traveling to Las Vegas with them for his fight against Vicente Luque at UFC 296.
In a recent interview with All Out Fighting, Covington said that he thinks Garry is being a ‘little sensitive’.
“All I’ll say about Ian is if you step in shoes junior, you better wipe that s*** off,” Covington said. “I’ve had death threats, bombings, people wanted to kill me after Brazil, I never turned off my social media, I never turned off my comments, look at that little Ian Garry, he’s turning off his comments like a little f***ing sensitive soy boy.
“You know he ain’t a tough- he ain’t the biggest and baddest f***ing fighter in the division, the guy’s a f***ing joke, he’s a little f***ing kid so, I don’t really have anything to say to him. You’ll see at the press conference but my business and my attention is focused towards Leon Scott [Edwards] and that’s all I care about right now.”
Garry is 13-0 in MMA with recent wins against Daniel Rodriguez and Neil Magny. The Irishman is now set to face perennial welterweight contender Vicente Luque in arguably the toughest fight of his career at UFC 296.
Who do you think will win?
