UFC CEO Dana White has weighed in on Conor McGregor’s recent statement regarding a potential return to the Octagon in either August or September.

This past weekend, McGregor appeared at the Bellator Dublin event and shared with reporters his intention to make a comeback to the Octagon sometime in August or September this year. When Dana White was asked about the Irishman’s withdrawal from UFC 303, he responded with the following statement:

“Yea, it’s been crazy,” Dana said during the UFC Saudi Arabia post-fight press conference. “But it’s always crazy, if it’s not these kinds of things, it is a lot of other things. It’s the business that we’re in.”

Dana also responded to the Irishman’s announcement about his potential comeback in August or September by sharing his thoughts.

“I don’t know right now,” Dana said. “Yeah, you know are schedule is already laid out, so we’ll see. I’m not doing anything until I know that Conor is healthy. It’s not even worth talking about. You know, what about September? What about October? He’s not ready. So why even talk about that.”

McGregor’s last fight was in 2021 when he lost to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264, suffering a broken leg that has kept him sidelined since. His most recent victory was a first-round TKO against Donald Cerrone at UFC 246 in January 2020.

It remains to be seen if Dana and the UFC will schedule a fight for McGregor before the end of 2024.
