UFC bantamweight champ Sean O’Malley thinks Ryan Garcia must be out of his mind for wanting to step into the MMA cage with him.
Last year, O’Malley had a back and forth with Gervonta Davis and Garcia as he tried to lure the two into locking horns with him in the boxing ring. However, the fight may not happen as long as ‘Suga’ in under contract with the UFC.
Nevertheless, Garcia is willing to step out of his comfort zone to make the fight happen. In a recent interview, ‘KingRy’ said that he believes he can beat O’Malley in an MMA fight.
In a recent episode of his podcast, O’Malley clapped back at Garcia by calling him ‘stupid’ and ‘delusional’.
“He said he would fight me in the UFC if the money was there. Like, buddy.” O’Malley stated. “Brother, I would kill you within minutes. It’s just not even realistic, I wouldn’t even think about that. It’s crazy how stupid, and delusional that is… When boxers say they want to fight in MMA, it’s 100 percent crazy.
“I don’t even need to take him down. I could take him and down and choke him, but I would kick him in the f***ing body, I would kick his little sticks, I would do whatever the f*** I wanted to him, I could even box him with MMA gloves. It’s a different sport with those little MMA gloves. The distance is different. I could beat him and Devin Haney in the same night. Back to back, in the same night.”
Ryan Garcia is gearing up for a boxing showdown with Devin Haney scheduled for April 20 in Las Vegas, whereas O’Malley is preparing to defend his UFC bantamweight title against Marlon Vera at UFC 299.
