Henry Cejudo believes he’d beat Merab Dvalishvili up with ease if they lock horns down the road.

Cejudo last fought at UFC 249, where he successfully defended his bantamweight title by stopping Dominick Cruz in the second round, and he will make his return to the Octagon to fight for the bantamweight title against Aljamain Sterling at UFC 288. Should he win, he’d most likely defend his belt in an immediate rematch against ‘Funk Master’ or against his best friend, Dvalishvili, who scored a dominant victory against Petr Yan to improve to six consecutive wins at UFC Vegas 71.

Speaking on his YouTube channel (as transcribed by MMA Junkie), Cejudo said that Sterling will be a tougher matchup than Dvalishvili, who he thinks would be an easy fight.

“For my fight with Sterling, I have a feeling he’s gonna fight the way he fought Pedro Munhoz. I’m expecting that,” Cejudo said. “Real high pace, real volume, a lot of movement, a lot of lateral stuff, but he could also come in and just wing.

“These guys are the same fighters all the time. Aljamain, he just flows with his fighting, he’s a freestyler. This guy (Dvalishvili), you know he’s gonna press, you know he’s gonna do all this to shoot. This is why a guy like Merab would be easy money. I’d hurt that dude. I’d let him in on my legs, make him carry my weight, and then take him down.”

Do you agree with Henry Cejudo that Merab Dvalishvili would be an easy fight for him?
