Colby Covington is confident he will get his hand raised in his rematch against UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman this weekend at UFC 268.

Covington fought Usman for the first time at UFC 245, where he was finished in the fifth round after a back and forth battle. ‘Chaos’ refuses to accept the loss to this day, however, accusing ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ of cheating multiple times during the fight.

Since their first fight at UFC 245, Covington has only fought once at UFC Vegas 11, where he finished Tyron Woodley in the fifth round, while the Nigerian has fought thrice, beating Jorge Masvidal twice, at UFC 251 and UFC 261, and Gilbert Burns at UFC 258.

Usman will be looking to extend his dominant run in the division this weekend, but Covington is confident that he will exact his revenge.

Colby Covington’s Prediction

During the opening episode of the UFC 268 Embedded series (as transcribed by LowKick MMA), Covington revealed how he thinks his fight against Usman will play out.

“What’s driving me is revenge,” Covington said. “He doesn’t want to be here. If it wasn’t for the UFC forcing his hand telling him ‘hey if you don’t fight Colby we’ll strip you and move on,’ he wouldn’t be here. He was looking for any way to avoid fighting me. It’s a great feeling for this to be in New York City.

“They say the city never sleeps but hopefully, they’ll make an exception Saturday night because I’m putting Marty to sleep in Madison Square Garden.”

Who do you think will win the welterweight title fight between Colby Covington and Kamaru Usman at UFC 268?
